    Hello,

can you tell me the p/n of your Anybus Communicator?

What worked for me was making sure I saved the changes properly after setting the IP.

Duh. That is the point of the question. "How" we save it is what we're all here for. I will be back when I find the answer.

Update. I have done some reading. Not sure what model you are using, but mine is a AB7072-B.
Looking at the manual for that, on page 37:

"To exist on the network, the Anybus Communicator needs a valid TCP/IP configuration. These settings
are stored in the system file ‘\ethcfg.cfg’. Note that if TCP/IP settings are enabled in Anybus Configuration Manager, then the IP address, gateway and subnet settings in ethcfg.cfg will be overwritten every
time the module is restarted. All other settings are unaffected."

In other words, Anybus Configuration Manager is overwriting your IP config if you are using the HMS IPConfig tool.

It appears that for the AB7072-B, you need the HMS RJ11 cable to program with ACM. Sorry HMS, but my project does not have the time to wait on your cable..... maybe add Ethernet support to the ACM tool? Please?

I can't confirm with 100% certainty that this is the final solution without the cable, but I can tell you that the ethcfg.cfg file retains my IP config. Which means the Anybus just isn't listening to the ethcfg.cfg file.
