sending data to ABC3090-A over Ethernet/IP
Hi,
I’m working on an Anybus ABS3090-A for connecting a proprietary controller with Modbus RTU to Ethernet/IP. Serial comms seem to work correct for read and I can read the data input assembly, class=4, instance=100, attribute=3.
Problem is when trying to write. I’m using the Molex Ethernet I/P tools to set single attribute to class=4, instance=150, attribute=3. The molex tool shows it works OK. In the Anybus communicator diagnostics under I/O data I can see the data is received correct but shows “The received data is not valid.”, and the data is not written to the modbus addresses as expected.
Is there any info for what would cause the “The received data is not valid” message, I haven’t found it mentioned in the manuals.
This will not be used with specific PLC on the Ethernet/IP network, it could be an HMI, or an A-B PLC, or an Automation direct PLC, or PC based scada, etc

Hi
The most likely cause for this message is that the PLC is in Idle state. Please confirm the state of the PLC. The Home page of the Communicator will also reflect the status of the PLC as seen by the gateway.
