Can Ethernet/IP network and Modbus-TCP network be the same network if using HMS-EN2PB-R

Hi Randy
Yes, you are correct, the two pairs of ports are on two separate simple switches to allow daisy-chaining of the gateway into an existing network. Each pair of ports (one for Modbus TCP and one for EtherNet/IP) will have need to have a unique IP address and then the gateway will work if you use one pair to daisy-chain from the other and then onto the network. I have done exactly this myself. -
Hi Randy Yakubek,
Thank you for your question,
It's a EtherNet/IP to PROFIBUS DP Linking Device - I would guess it doesn't support Modbus at all, maybe a Modbus communication in between other stations independent from this gateway should work. Ethernet IP and Modbus use different ports and if you take care of not using double IP addresses you should be fine.

Prajnay,
I meant HMS-EN2MB-R.
Do you know if it will work if I connect one of the MB ports to one of the Enet/IP ports and then connect the other Enet/IP port to the network? I suspect the two MB ports are part of a three port switch and the two Enet/IP ports are part of a second three port switch with these (2) three port switches being in the HMS-EN2MB-R.
Thanks, Randy
