Ewon cosy - possible to connect to it, but cant ping any device or the cosy itself
Hi,
I configured a Ewon Cosy 4G connected to cellular today. I have set the local IP to be on the same subnet as my PLC and devices, and I can access the Ewon through the web browser and my eCatcher client. But when connected through eCatcher, I can't ping the local devices, I also can't ping the Ewon's local or VPN IP address.
While trying to connect, disconnect, and restarting eCatcher, I was somehow able to connect to the local devices. But when I closed eCatcher and opened it again, I couldn't get it to work again.
I also uninstalled my OpenVPN connect program and eCatcher, installed it again, and it didn't help.
I feel like I have a similar problem as https://forum.hms-networks.com/t/ewon-cosy-connect-issue-cant-ping-from-1-laptop-but-can-from-another/68900
Can I please get any help on how to continue troubleshooting, because I have been struggling with this for a whole day.
Thank you.

Hi Pavel,
The first thing I would check are the points in the troubleshooting article: Unable to Ping or Connect to LAN Device
Also, run the 'route print -4' command in the command prompt to make sure there aren't any overlapping routes. For example, our corporate VPN overlaps with some of the Talk2M subnets, so I have to disconnect from it sometimes to use eCatcher.
Best Regards,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,
I have gone through the troubleshooting article checking all points but none of them helped.Excuse me for my lack of knowledge but how do I see if there are any overlapping routes? Also, it is important to note that I am not using any other VPN while trying to connect to the Ewon.
Thanks,
Pavel.

Hi Pavel,
Could you please try the following ->- Edit the parameters of your TAP adapter
- Disable all Protocols except "Internet Protocol Version 4" and validate
- Restart PC and try again.

Hi Prajnay,
Good idea, I went through trial and error and found that ''S7-PLCSIM Advanced Virtual Switch'' was giving the issue, I turned it off and now it seems to work.Lets hope it stays this way
Thanks for the tip.
