Modbus serial Profibus brick function code 70
AnsweredHi, I am using the CompactComm AnyBus brick for profibus, the Modbus serial variant.
I have my RTU communication operational, I can read the correct Module type and network type from the registers.
I am now attempting to read the configured Profibus Node address using function code 70. This node address is in network object 0x04, instance 1 at attribute 5. I have trouble constructing the Modbus request to retrieve this information. The Brick keeps sending me an exception code back for illegal_data_value.
Would it be possible to point me to additional documentation regarding the function code 70? What is in the "Anybus® CompactCom™ B40 Modbus Serial PROFIBUS Network Guide" is quite sparse. The document has an example to write virtual attributes, but nothing showing how I should read attributes from other objects.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Erik,
I am sorry for the late reply.
I will need to verify this on a Modbus Serial test setup, which I will have access to no sooner than upcoming Monday.
In the meantime, would you be able to open a ticket in our support portal describing your issue and maybe add your Modbus telegram that you tried until now?
Thank you.

I have managed to set the Node address via another way.
Thank you for the offer of assistance, but I am good for now. ;)
