Intesis - AC fallen off Wifi since adding calendar patterns
So I haven't had any issues with our Intesis AC Cloud Control since first inheriting it 2.5 years ago with the purchase of a business; I've never seen it go offline.
Last week, I added calendar patterns so the AC will come on an hour before staff arrive, and turn off an hour after they leave. There are different patterns for different days as our opening times change through the week, so a total of 7 different patterns (and we close after midnight, so each day actually turns off before it turns on e.g. AC turns off at 3am on Saturday, and turns back on at noon on Saturday).
Over the last few days, the patterns sometimes work but sometimes don't, and the affected AC has fallen off the network. It's a small business with 1 router, and it's not the business' internet, as our other AC unit (without pattern control) is on-network just fine.
I briefly got it back on network by restarting the Cloud Control device but it was on for all of 5 minutes before going off network again.
Any thoughts please? Have I overloaded it with patterns or something?
Side note - I don't actually know where the CC device is or what it looks like. I just know I have digital Mitsubishi HI AC controls on the wall, and they're mirrored in Intesis...but don't know where the previous owner actually put the CC device. I restarted it by deliberately tripping the AC circuit for a minute, simulating a power cut.

Further investigation suggests that, once manually turned on (by physically doing it, i.e. not through Intesis), it will eventually connect again. But once off, it goes to sleep and can't be turned on remotely, and shows as a disconnected device.

Hi David,
I doubt the calendar patterns themselves are actually to blame. It sounds more likely that the device is disconnecting for some reason and sometimes failing to reconnect, and this is affecting the functionality.
Can you provide the MAC ID or serial number of the device? This can be found under the Devices section of the app.
Have there been any changes that could have affected the wireless connectivity? Other sources of radio, microwaves, radar, etc.? Contruction? New equipment? The device may be in the AC housing, behind a wall or in the ceiling, depending on what type of device it is.
Best Regards,
Kyle

Hi Kyle, thanks for your reply.
The MAC ID is CC3F1D020DD4.
There haven't been any changes that I can think of that would affect this. We're a small business - 1 router, 3 wireless access points. And the other AC unit (same make/model) which isn't having any connectivity issues is located about 4 metres away. All units are professionally serviced every 6 months, last done within the last 30 days, though admittedly that's more about the mechanical than the digital.
I've just (in the last few minutes) reduced the patterns from 7 (1 per day) to 4 (where I identified days having the same pattern) to see if this makes any difference. Otherwise, I may have to go back to temporal scenes and see if that solves it - I only changed from temporal scenes in the first place because of the requirement for slightly different patterns on different days. I appreciate that you doubt the calendar patterns are responsible, and I'd usually agree with you - why should a schedule pattern, even if not working, cause connectivity issues? - but equally I can't think of any other changes that could account for this and the timing matches exactly.

Hi David,
I apologize for the delay. I found out that it's only possible to run 1 pattern per calendar day. The product manager has been notified and they should be either fixing this or at least adding the limitation to the documentation.
I sent a follow up question to them to ask how this could affect the communication. Hopefully I will get an answer much sooner this time.

I was able to follow up with them and they said this should not affect the connection. They would like to run some tests.
Can you tell me which time zone you are in?
I will also create a support ticket for this issue.

Hi Kyle,
I'm in the UK, so currently on GMT+1 (British Summer Time).
However - my earlier fix, of consolidating the patterns from 7 separate patterns across the week (to clarify - only ever 1 per day), to 4 separate patterns (where days with the same opening times can use the same pattern), appears to have fixed it!
I agree that this shouldn't be the case and it doesn't make a huge amount of sense - so can't rule out that there was an external factor all along - but my own experience is that the connectivity problems began when I added 7 patterns to the week, were consistent for a week and a half, and then I've not had any problems in the 19 days since consolidating them to 4 patterns a week, resolving immediately once I'd managed to push these patterns through.
Do with the info what you will! - it may have been a coincidence, but in any case, I appear to be up and running just fine now and have been for almost 3 weeks.

Thanks for the update, David. The product engineers are aware of an issue with the patterns when they overlap (on the same day) and should be working on a fix. I'm glad it's working for you again now. Please let me know if you have any other issues or questions!
