Inquiry Regarding Compatibility Issue with XGI PLC and Profibus DP-V1 Communication
Dear HMS
I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to inquire about an issue we are encountering with your AB7312-B converter, designed to facilitate CAN communication through Profibus-DP.
Our current setup involves utilizing Profibus DP-V1 communication, and while the converter is stated to support this protocol, we are experiencing compatibility issues specifically with our XGI PLC. Despite successful communication with Profibus DP-V0, we are unable to establish a connection with DP-V1.
Could you kindly advise if there are any specific settings or configurations required to ensure compatibility with XGI PLC and Profibus DP-V1 communication? Additionally, we are utilizing the GSD file [HMSA1838], and we would appreciate confirmation if this file is compatible and should not pose any issues.
Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi KANGTAEHYEON,
Yes, that appears to be the correct GSD file. You can find all documentation, software, config files, etc., on the product download page.
The AB7312-B does support PROFIBUS DP-V1, so it should work with the PLC. It is a PROFIBUS slave so it does not initiate communication towards other nodes by itself, but can be read from/written to
by a PROFIBUS master. Are you getting a specific error messages?

Thank you for confirming.
I will focus on the PLC side to identify the issue.0
