Netbiter LC310 - How to read registers

    Hi

You do not say whether the Modbus communication where the data is read from is Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP.

If it is Modbus RTU then the solution is to configure the LC310 to use Transparent Modbus mode so that requests from the Modbus TCP Client on your PC connected via Ethernet are passed through the Netbiter directly to the Modbus RTU devices and the responses are returned to the Modbus TCP client transparently. See page 15 of the manual for the configuration of the Modbus Transparent mode:

    LC310 Manual

It is also possible to configure access to the internal module registers via the same settings page - this allows access to the state of the digital inputs and relay output as well as status registers and configuration registers.

It is not possible to read the values read by the Netbiter from the devices connected to it - for example Modbus TCP servers - or the state of any Netbiter Alarms configured.

One final thought - if the application on the PC is instead a Modbus TCP Server then data bindings could be used. You would need to create your own template for the Netbiter to define the registers that should hold the values you want to log and then the Bindings configuration in the Netbiter will automatically write these values at the specified time interval. See page 33 of the manual for details.

Hope that gives you a solution to your requirement.
