Inductive Automation Ignition EWON Connector
Hello.
I am just starting to utlize the eWON Connector module for Inductive Automation's Ignition package. I have gotten my first eWON connected, but I had some questions
-
What is the format for timestamps? I cannot figure out how to convert the t_stamp field to a readable date/time.
-
Do you have any documentation on the schema generated? I am using MySQL as my database and upon "connecting" an eWON, the following tables were created:
-
sqlt_data_1_2020_04 := This table is growing REALLY fast, and I don't know understand why. Again, can't parse t_stamp field. It's datetime, but I can't tell if it is unix format or what?
-
sqlth_drv := ??
-
sqlth_partitions := ?? Not certain (will there be separate partitions generated based upon some time block? I can't parse the start_time/end_time date fields
-
sqlth_sce := ??
-
sqlth_scinfo := Is this the table of the unique eWONS?
-
sqlth_te := This one makes some sense to me as far as the tag listings
Attempting to get a crashed Esync system back online with this new technology.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

These question are more specific to Ignition. All the Ignition Ewon Connector does is create tags and update their values on Ignition. It looks like you are trying to use some features of Ignition to handle the data. I would recommend asking these questions to Ignition support to see if they can help.

Kyle,
Thanks. Indeed most of these questions did relate to the Ignition side. However, I do have two questions that I think are relevant to the eWON device and eWON Connector (HMS) side.
In looking at the documentation for the eWON Flexy and eWON connector, my actual dropdown options for the data management screen do not sync with what the documentation has. I only have two options: "DataMailbox' and "Custom.' The Flexy documentation and eWON Connector documentation has a "TALK2M API' option which does appear for me. I believe this might be causing some issues.
I have two eWONS connected and when I enable the "Read All Values In realtime" option in the Ignition eWON Connector module, I do get all the tags listed. However, I am not getting accurate data. In one system which has 14 float and integer values. I can verify only 5 of them are showing properly in Ignition. The other tags appear but their value is 0. I examined the configuration within the eWON on the ones that work and those that don't, and I can't see any difference.
Again, any assistance is appreciated.

Hi Craig,
Can you confirm what firmware version you have on the Flexys? You'll want to make sure you are running the latest, at least 14.1, or this could be affecting the Ignition Connector.

Ha. About 3 minutes after sending the email I realized firmware version should be check. Indeed. it needed to be upgraded
It was still acting very odd, but I turned off the "Read all values in realtime" on the Ignition eWON connector and it started updating. I can't really explain that because I don't have another feature that is listed in the eWON Connector docs - a "_config" folder in the individual tag provider folders, but I am moving forward right now.
Thanks for your help and quick responses.
