Since the Ewon CD model will be disconnected from Talk2m in 2027, you may need to replace your existing Ewon CD unit with an Ewon Flexy.
Below is the recommended step‑by‑step migration process:

Follow the instructions here: https://www.hms-networks.com/support/tech-support/kb-articles/7169629248146-How-to-create-an-Ewon-backup-with-Ebuddy -
Edit the backup file
Open the.tarfile using 7‑Zip or ZipExtractor and modify the parameter LANWANConfig to 8 in thecomcfg.txtfile.
After saving and closing thecomcfg.txtfile, the software will prompt you to save the changes directly into the archive. Click OK to confirm.
-
Save the updated configuration
After closingcomcfg.txt, the software will prompt you to save the changes directly into the archive. Confirm by clicking OK. -
Export the Talk2m registration key
In Ecatcher, go to Ewon auto‑registration → Export Key to SD Card to generate thet2m.txtfile.
-
Prepare the SD card
Copy both the updatedbackup.tarand thet2m.txtfile onto an SD card formatted in FAT32. (Alternatively, you can push the backup to the Flexy using Ebuddy and register the Flexy to Talk2M via the Talk2M wizard in the web interface.) -
Insert the SD card into the new Ewon Flexy
Use a Flexy equipped with an MPI or serial card, depending on the original Ewon CD model. -
Wait for the automatic restore
The USR LED will blink orange and eventually turn solid green. Remove the SD card; the Flexy will reboot automatically. -
Verify Talk2m connection
Within 1–2 minutes after reboot, the Flexy will connect to your Talk2M account and appear as Pending in Ecatcher. -
