Since the Ewon CD model will be disconnected from Talk2m current 2027, you might have to replace your old Ewon CD unit to an Ewon Flexy.
Here is the recommended step by step process :
- Download the backup file (.tar) from your Ewon CD device (https://www.hms-networks.com/support/tech-support/kb-articles/7169629248146-How-to-create-an-Ewon-backup-with-Ebuddy)
- Edit the backup using 7Zip or ZipExtractor to change the parameter "LANWANConfig" to 8 in the comcfg.txt file.
After saving & closing the comcfg.txt file, the software will prompt the save the change in the zip file directly. Click OK.
- Get the "t2m.txt" file from your Talk2m account via Ecatcher (Ewon auto-registration > Export Key to SD Card)
- Copy the newly generated backup.tar and the t2m.txt file on a SD card, formatted in FAT32.
(Alternatively you could also push this backup file to the Ewon Flexy by using Ebuddy and register your Flexy to Talk2m using the Talk2m wizard of the Web interface) - Insert the SD card to your "fresh" Ewon Flexy equipped with a MPI card or a serial card depending on the Ewon CD model used.
- The USR Led should blink orange and ends up in steady green state. Remove the SD card and the Ewon Flexy will reboot.
- 1 or 2 minutes after the reboot, the Ewon Flexy connects to the Talk2m account and appears as pending in Ecatcher.
- Finally, replace the Ewon CD in Ecatcher by the Flexy. (https://help.ewon.biz/ecatcher/help/en/account-498351.html#ewon-autoregistration-499967)
