ISSUE
When you power on the Ewon Flexy, it fails to start properly. The USR LED does not slowly blink GREEN as expected. Instead, the device may remain stuck in a continuous boot phase with the USR LED blinking rapidly green, or it may display a steady RED or ORANGE USR LED
POSSIBLE CAUSES / ANSWER
The Flexy firmware image might be corrupted or there is an hardware issue with your device.
What we recommend to do is to reinstall the firmware image on your device using an SD card by following this procedure:
- Download the last version of the ebu firmware file on the website https://www.hms-networks.com/p/flexy20500-00ma-ewon-flexy-205?tab=tab-support
- Save it on your SD card (FAT32 formatted) and change the file extension from *.ebu to *.debu
If the firmware version is lower than version 15 : Change the Filename to ewonfwr.debu
From Fwr version 15.0 or above, change the filename to ewonfwr.ebus - For a Cosy 131, a USB can be an alternative option to an SD card.
- Power down the Flexy
- Insert the SD card in the Flexy
- Power up the Flexy
- The Flexy USR LED will remain ORANGE for a few minutes and eventually turn solid GREEN.
- Remove the SD card and reboot your device (power down and up)
Info: If this isn't working, please repeat the operation with firmware version 14.0s02(recovery). It may work better. You will still be able to upgrade to the latest version afterwards.
Warning: If this situation was caused by a downgrade from 15.x to 14.x using Ebuddy, please repeat the operation with the last firmware version 15.x(recovery) using both EBU & EBUS files on the SD card.
If you have problems to execute the firmware flashing procedure, please let us know by opening a support ticket on our support ticketing platform.
If you are sure you have done the procedure properly and it did not work, please return your device through our RMA portal.
