This article describes the difference between the new 700 Series DALI and the legacy DALI Protocol Translators.
APPLICABLE PRODUCTS
- DALI Protocol Translators: (IN703DAL0640000, IN704DAL1280000).
QUESTION
What is the difference between the current DALI gateways and the new DALI 700 Series?
ANSWER
- In the new 700 Series, the same piece of hardware can be configured either for Modbus or for BACnet.
- The new 700 Series gateways support “Part 209: Colour control”, “Part 252: Energy data”, and “Part 253: Diagnostics and maintenance data” of the DALI standard. In practice, this means allowing the BMS to control DALI colour devices (whether tunable white, RGB, or RGBW), and to get energy, diagnostics, and maintenance data from those DALI devices supporting these functions.
- To the local control for push buttons and absolute inputs, we have now added local control for occupancy and light sensors, allowing the gateway to directly act over these device types.
