PRE-REQUISITES
Considerations before reviewing a compatibility.
IN THIS ARTICLE
There are 2 main categories of gateways: One-to-One and Multi-Unit.
The One-to-One category is divided into 3 subcategories depending on the type of gateway: Universal IR, AC Connector and RC Connector. For this solution we have Universal IR and AC Connector available.
One-to-One
These gateways communicate with a single Indoor Unit and offer individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.).
Within this category there are 2 different types of Midea gateways:
- Universal IR.
- AC Connector.
When checking a compatibility consider:
- Supported: Cassettes, Duct, Floor standing Units, Wall mount, Air curtain, VRF Fan Coil Units – V4 or V6 (only BACnet).
- Not supported: Air to water, AHU, Heat exchange systems and Outdoor Units.
-
The wired solution is not supported when the centralised controller is connected at the same time to the XYE bus.
Universal IR
The Universal IR communicates via the Infrared receiver of the Indoor Unit
Multi-Unit
These gateways have direct access to the Outdoor Unit communication bus (XYE) providing individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.) and signals from the Outdoor Units. These gateways use Intesis MAPS as Configuration Tool.
When checking a compatibility consider:
- Indoor Units cannot be connected directly to the gateways.
- Compatible with VRF outdoor units –V4 or V6.
- Not supported when the centralised controller is connected to the XYE bus at the same time.
-
Systems with compatible Outdoor Units (XYE) and where the Indoor Units communicate with them via PQE, simply connect a Commercial & VRF to the Outdoor Unit to control all Indoor Units.
