Troubleshooting connection in Anybus Configuration Manager - DeviceNet
We are connecting to an Anybus X-gateway with an 'Ethernet IP + MBTCP + WEB Slave + IT_2port' to 'DeviceNet Master' using Anubus Configuration Manager v3.7.1.1.
We can connect from a laptop connected directly to a switch on the local subnet, but cannot connect from our engineering workstation on a different subnet. From the workstation, we can see the X-gateway and subsequent Ethernet interface populate when configuring the Ethernet Transport Provider. We can verify it populates on a valid IP and doesn't on an address we know has no device. When we accept all windows and try to go online in the network screen (CTRL+G), the button depresses for a few seconds, then lets go, but no error message or any indication. We remain in 'Network Offline' status.
This happens whether we have a device dragged from the left onto the network map or not. We can have it set to the correct device net address or not and get no difference in result. We have this working on the laptops, and are following the same steps/using same software versions. We do not see any errors in the Event viewer application log.
- Is there some other place that these errors may be logged?
- What are the ports needed to access, in case it is a firewall/routing issue? (TCP 7412 is shown to be used by netstat)
- Can these be configured from a different subnet, or does it need to be local?

The Anybus Transport Provider requires that the PC and the X-gateway are in the same IP subnet, it is not possible to route this traffic across a network.
