  Only the checkboxes below the Ack button have a 'state.' These checkboxes indicate whether an alarm is acknowledged or not.

  The Ack button itself is only in the 'clicked' state while you are pressing it and performs an action only when clicked. Otherwise, it remains in the unclicked state and does nothing.

  The specific action of the Ack button depends on its configuration. (Maybe it acknowledges all checkboxes below?) If the button appears to do nothing, you can check its properties to add or change its actions.
