Usage of B40 + option board for the development of the production system
Hello,
is it possible to use B40 (e.g. Ethercat) with option board to develop the production system?
As long as we do not have our own hardware, I want to start the development of the production system using B40 bricks and option board.
Is it possible to activate the service mode on B40 or the service mode is available on the empty C40 only?

Hello Andy,
Yes you are able to start development with of your application without the hardware. The application can be done on one platform then reused on another. The host application is C based and broken up in a way making it easy to port. The same application is used for all the compactcom 40 series devices. Once you have your hardware you would be able to update the adapt section of the application for your product.
The USB starter kit board allows you to use Visual studio and test using a windows PC. I have also seen just the breakout boards used with jumpers for SPI. Though the clock rate may need to be limited.
