How to configure Anybus Converter EtherNet/IP adapter to EtherCAT slave for Maxon EPOS4 EtherCat to ABB OmniCore Controller Ethernet/IP
Hello,
I am currently using Anybus Communicator – [product link] and I would like to connect Maxon EPOS4 (EtherCAT) as a slave device to ABB OmniCore robot controller master (EtherNet/IP) . I entered the Anybus configuration page but no clue on how to proceed from there. Could anyone guide me on the steps to integrate EPOS4 to ABB controller?
This is Maxon EPOS4 communication guide pdf.
Questions:
1. How or where can I get the information to define the byte size for Maxon EPOS4 to set the I/O configuration in the Anybus
2. I can export ESI file from Maxon EPOS4, where should I import this Maxon ESI file to?
3. What file I should generate from the Anybus communicator so that ABB controller could read the Anybus under EthernetIP?

You say:
I would like to connect Maxon EPOS4 (EtherCAT) as a slave devicebut the Anybus Communicator is also an EtherCAT slave device so you cannot connect the two together directly, you need an EtherCAT MainDevice in the system.
Take a look at this gateway instead:
You cannot configure the EtherCAT MainDevice in the gateway using an ESI file but if the Maxon EPOS4 responds to a scan request then the MainDevice in the Communicator gateway will add it to the scan list with the reported PDOs.
You can download the EDS file from the gateway once it is configured for the ABB EtherNet/IP Scanner to configure that side.
