USB-to-CAN/FD Standard LabVIEW Support

We currently use USB-to-CAN V2 compact (1.01.0281.12001 and 1.01.0281.11001) in the LabVIEW environment. Is the new successor, USB-to-CAN/FD Standard (1.01.0381.12001) a true drop-in replacement? Would the same LabVIEW sub-vi's work with both generations of USB-to-CAN devices?

  The VCI API and the VCI LabVIEW API are identical for all CAN interface boards. However, an application can be designed to support only specific types of CAN interface boards and certain serial numbers. In such cases, the hardware selection algorithm should be adapted accordingly.
