AB7318-B Canbus to Ethernet/IP programming
I am attempting to connect our Canbus devices to our CompactLogix. I have done the research and it shows this Communicator is the correct hardware.
I have downloaded Anybus Configuration Manager Version 1.7.1.1. When I select the "Network" page from the menu on the left and go to "Network Type" the only option for EtherNet/IP is "EtherNet/IP + Modbus - TCP"
This is different from the manuals I have downloaded and the videos I have watched. I was expecting EtherNet/IP by itself, I would rather not use Modbus.
Please advise.

Hello,
Modbus is supported in the event the application calls for it. You certainly do not need to use it, so you can just ignore that functionality.
Thanks!

The way it is listed I do not see an option to not use it and have Ethernet/IP. Is it just a matter of in the Modbus Addressing Mode I select Anybus Addressing and it does not use Modbus?
I uploaded the photo of what I am talking about.

If you are not using Modbus the Modbus addressing mode does not matter. Although it is listed there you can just ignore it.
Best regards,

Ok thanks. The way it appears I thought it was going to force me into a Modbus addressing scheme, which would require a separate gateway since Modbus is not native to compactlogix.
Have a good day
