Connect to DirectLogic DL06
What would it take to connect a Flexy 201 to a DirctLogic DL06 plc to be able to read and write values in the plc?
We will be using port 2 on the DL06 which is a 15 pin multi function port.
Communications Port 2
Connects to HPP, DirectSOFT 5, operator
interfaces, etc.
15-pin, multifunction port, RS232C, RS422, RS485
Communication speed (baud): 300, 600, 1200,
2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400
Parity: odd (default), even, none
Station Address: 1 (default)
8 data bits
1 start, 1 stop bit
Asynchronous, half-duplex, DTE
Protocol (auto-select): K-sequence (slave only),
DirectNET (master/slave), MODBUS (master/slave),
non-sequence/print/ASCII in/out
Can we use the 201 base with the FLA 3301 serial expansion card?

You should be able to use Modbus RTU over RS485 or RS422 to communicate with the Flexy using the FLA3301 serial extension card.
We also have a document related to this PLC's Directsoft software but it's for an ethernet connection. I thought it may be helpful though as the path should be similar for serial in the software.

edit - you can also use RS232, and the eWON supports both full & half duplex.

I just noticed you did not say anything about being able to use RS232 for the connection. Why is that?
Also can the FLA3301 card do both full and half duplex?

@tedsch
RS232 is also supported, and we support full and half duplex.
I'd take a look the FLA3301 extension card manual for additional details regarding the extension card as well as it may help with future questions:

The manual is a bit fuzzy when it comes to full and half duplex:
