Anybus Communicator Modbus RTU – “No module was found” in ACM

Hi HMS Community,

I’m trying to connect to an Anybus Communicator Modbus RTU installed in an Aerzen blower using Anybus Configuration Manager – Communicator RS232/422/485.

The PLC communication is working normally, but when I connect my laptop through the PC/configuration port and select the correct COM port in ACM, I get:

“No module was found.”

My connection is:

Laptop USB → USB-to-RS232 adapter → DB9F-to-4P4C cable → Anybus PC port.

I built the cable to the documented pinout and checked continuity, but the connection still fails. so I’m wondering if the USB-RS232 adapter is not providing proper RS232 signal levels. 

Can anyone confirm:

• whether I must use the specific HMS RS232 adapter/cable.
• and whether any ACM settings or power-cycle procedure are needed before connecting?

  Hi Imeh,
  
  Try using a USB - RS232 adapter with the FTDI or Prolific chipset (such as this one).
