Ewon cosy+ 4G EU with female SMA antenna connector and male RP-SMA antenna

I ran into someting odd at a costumers installation recently.

I had some issues getting a consistant internent connection on the Ewon Cosy+ 4G EU so I brought the device to the office to check if it needed a larger antenna to ensure good reception in the noicy industrial enviroment and noticed that the antenna installed was missmatched to the device and than that that the device contrary to the tecnical specifications had a female SMA connecor instead of the specified female RP-SMA connector.

Going ot be hard to get good reception with a mm air gap between the antenna and the device.

Atleast the it is going to be a simple fix but it might be worth keeping in mind if anyone else have issues with cellular reception.

  Hi Axel, 

  When purchasing our Ewon Cosy+, no antenna is included, this need to be purchased separately so I assume that the person installing the device might have installed the wrong type of antenna. 
  
  On the page below, you are able to see all Ewon accessories.
  Product accessories
   
  If you just want to have a 4G antenna mounted on the Ewon device itself, I would recommend the below antenna. 
  Ewon accessory - 4G foldable dipole antenna
   
  If you want an IP certified antenna with extension cable, I would recommend the below. 
  Ewon accessory - 4G antenna - with mounting bracket and 5m cable

  Hi Robert

   

  Thank you for the recomendations and those would work for this device but unless the tecnical specifications on the web page is incorrect they would not work (well) with the EU versions of the Ewon cosy+ 4g as that is speficied as having RP-SMA connector so you would run into the oposite problem to the one I encontered i.e. two pegs insetad of two holes

  P.s. the wifi antenna on the web site is also specified as being a SMA antenna but the WIFI cosy is specified as having a RP-SMA connector so something is definitly wrong somewhare.

  Our web master is looking into this typing error at the moment and just need an approval from the product manager, then this typing error will be corrected. 
  
  If looking at the WiFi antenna, it´s actually a RP-SMA Male, so that should be corrected also I will take this further with the product managers and they will take action on this..
