Problem with remote conection EWON FLEXY 205 and s7300 mpi siemens plc
I am trying to remotely connect my eWON Flexy 205 with an MPI card included via VPN to a Siemens S7-300 PLC using MPI/DP, which is programmed with Step 7. I have configured the parameters in Talk2M, and eCatcher connects to the VPN without issues. My bus connectors are in the ON position on both the PLC and the eWON. On the PLC, the connector is set to node 2 on the MPI port. In the PG/PC interface, I have the following TAP-Windows Adapter V9 TCP/IP (Auto.1), but when accessing the accessible nodes, nothing is displayed. I have pinged my IP address 192.168.10.10, and it responds without any problem. What could be the issue?

Hi Antonio!
Have there been any tests done to check if connecting directly to the cable locally connected to the Flexy allows access to the S7-300 PLC? It might be a cable or connector issue.
Sometimes, cleaning staff may accidentally disconnect cables, so it's a good idea to have someone locally verify the connection.
Did you Follow the Application Note:
Have you installed the mentioned .cfg file? (Please refer to the AUG 37 Chapter 7.1.10 for details. you can find the Configuration File in the Configuration File Section here)
Is this a standard STEP 7 setup, or is WIN CC involved? Note that there is a separate .cfg file for WIN CC.
What is the firmware version of your Flexy 205? If it is version 12 or higher, you should see at least two devices (the PLC and the EWON) listed among the neighbors in the MPI/PROFIBUS stations registered on the network.
If Your FW is higher or equal than 12 this means:- the MPI IO server setup parameters for your Ewon are not correct.
- Or those parameters have not been saved using the Update button.
Parameters:
- Check the baud rate settings,
- verify that the Ewon is not using an MPI address already in use
- and make sure you finish the verification by clicking the Update button.
You indicated in your Text that the PLC has the MPI Adress 2 but in your Picture you gave the MPI Adress 2 to the Ewon. Make sure to give it a different Adress default is 0 if you fill nothing in.
If the status table displays only one MPI address, which is actually the one of your Ewon, it is likely that
- the baud rate settings are not correct,
- that your Ewon is not properly connected to the MPI network
- or that the cable used is not OK
This points to a local connection or setup issue between the Ewon and the PLC.
If you have further questions, please provide the firmware version and let us know if you can see any nodes in the Flexy MPI settings. (More Screenshots ;-))
