    Hi Monesh,

No, RMII is not a requirement for communication between the ABCC40 and the host. If the communication interface you would like to use between your host and the ABCC40 is SPI, then you simply need to do the SPI connections following the recommendations provided in the HW Design Guide.

RMII is only supported by the Transparent Ethernet variants of the ABCC40 (the standard ABCC40's do not support it) in order to route any Ethernet communication other than the Industrial Ethernet communication directly to the host application.

    Hello Monesh,

I have created a ticket for you. You can upload files to your ticket.

You can access your open tickets here:

    HMS Support Portal (hms-networks.com)

You should have received an email confirming the ticket creation.

Our colleagues will assist you through the ticket, so please continue communicating there.

Please provide the Article Number(s) or Serial Number(s), as not all modules support RMII.

Which modules are you trying to implement with which industrial protocol?

It seems that you are trying to implement Profinet, so RMII is not the correct connection.

For the ABCC 40, you can use:

    • Parallel connection (8 or 16 Bit)
    • SPI
    • Serial (UART)

to connect to our modules that handle industrial protocols (like Profinet).

RMII is for transparent Ethernet (not industrial protocols), and it is not available on all modules.

You can find our e-learning course here:

    What is Anybus CompactCom

Please take a look at that as well.

The colleagues in the ticket will assist you further.

    Best regards,
    Franziska Gültig

I'm sharing my requirement, please guide me
I what connect my host (iMX8) with different industrial protocol like profinet, devicenet, ethernetIP

Basically I'm making an IoT gateway which will take different   industrial protocol like profinet, devicenet, ethernetIP from RJ45 and it will send tha data to Cloud

So which Module i need to choice I want to use anybus  BRICK module IS THER ANY SPECIFIC MODULE IS BRICK MODULE IS THERE FOR THIS APPLICTION can I get module number
