Anybus Profihub With Fiber Optic

Hi everyone,

can i use Profihub (with fiber optic) as network converter from Profibus DP to Fiber Optic Ring?
for example the PLC as master connect to DP connector at profihub, and the fiber optic from profihub connect to other profihub to create ring topology. the other profihub will connect to slave device.

if can use it, any sugestion to which profihub we must use? the single mode or multi mode?

  Hello, yes for sure you can do so. See our product description: ProfiHub B2FO2+ - Procentec . Please notice that the HUB's at the fiber optic side are not compatible to Siemens products!

  P.S. you can set the HUB's to an diagnostic slave, that's an interesting feature!

  Thank you for the feedback,
  Is that mean Profihub FO only works on base network profibus not profinet?
  So if the network already have FO from Profinet we can't use it right?
  Do you have experience with CP342-5 FO? It S7-300 Fiber Optic Module, are profihub still can works?

  Hello,

  yes, the HUB's are only to use for Profibus. You can connect a CP342-5 FO via coper to our HUB's. In fiber optics it is unfortunatly not fully compatible.
