EWON VPN unusable
none of our field devices are reachable after Talk2M servers updates of 12/27. VPN connections seem to open, at least Ecatcher indicates EWON is connected, but remote devices are not reachable over VPN

It seems to be working now. This is what I did (without modifying any firewall settings):
- Updated TAP Windows adapter V9 driver (used driver provided under the current Windows 10 installation)
- Restarted Windows
- Reinstalled Ecatcher
There are now two TAP Windows adapters visible under my network adapters. I think EWON installation may have added the second one. I can access devices over VPN now.

Hi Vaclav,
Happy to hear that you got it working.
To add to this subject and for future reference, when reinstalling the TAP adapter this can be done without reinstalling the software through 2 script files located in the eCatcher installation folder found here:
Perhaps this is the method you used, I just wanted to clarify it a bit.
Happy new years!

Thank you for the follow-up. Yes, I used these batch files in the course of troubleshooting the issue. I'd only add that they need to be 'Run as administrator'.

Thanks for clarifying this. That is true, installing an adapter like this usually requires administration rights.
Especially in enterprise systems, this is important to note as administration rights are typically limited.

These scripts are atrocious and you should be ashamed to be suggesting them as a part of your product. That rename script finds the first tap adapter available and renames it, causing issues if there's another VPN already installed. I took 5 minutes and created a single vbs script that will add a tap adapter and rename THAT specific tap adapter. Save this as a vbs and drop it into the same file location, and never touch those garbage scripts again. pastebin.com/W2VAgMUq
Please hire real developers. Good day.

Thanks for the VBS script Erick Steveson
i talked to a support agent and they had a workaround for the issue that is to install ecatcher first and then install the other vpn solutions. i was like that is not acceptable you´r software should work regardless of what is installed.
most enterprise users dont have admin rights will this vbs script still work as non-admin ie standard user?
