    Hello,

I am a little confused on what you are trying to do.

By default, you will not be able to access this unit via the WAN side. In order to set up the unit, you will need to connect to the LAN side and use eBuddy to access the device UI. The WAN connection is only used to establish internet connection to the unit.

I would Factory reset the unit, and set it up through the LAN side of the device.

    Hello Kevin,

Sorry for the confusion. Please see explanation below:

Objective: eWon has been connected on customer network through eWon WAN port. And customer is trying to put in the VPN information so it can connect to Talk2M server.

Question: Customer can only visit eWon from WAN port now because he is working from home. What is the best way to set Talk2M VPN information?

I hope this clarifies the situation a little bit.

    Thank you,
    Tony

Unfortunately, that is not possible to access the device UI through the WAN port.

The best way to set VPN is to connect locally with a laptop and remote view in to configure the VPN. The WAN port is an outgoing port, so it doesnt allow incoming connections to the LAN side.

Is it possible for someone onsite to connect to the unit?

    Thanks for the explanation, Kevin.

Just want to confirm that if eWon is connected to a factory network through WAN port with static IP address, a computer on the same network CANNOT access the device UI via static IP.

Are there anything we can do from WAN port, like transfer FTP config file, restore archive file through ebuddy (Sorry I typed in ecatcher in last draft) with correct setting? Or there is absolutely nothing we can do and the setup must be done through LAN port.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hello,

If the device does not have an established VPN connectivity with our servers, the only course of action to configure this unit is to configure the unit locally through the LAN port.

We always advise going through the LAN port for confguration for if something does not work, it is easier to diagnose and resolve the issue without worrying about losing connection to the unit.
