Please note
Not all DiTak 8 model application can be replaced with the current CUB5 series model. This is due to the DT80000 model using a fixed internal lithium battery for display power that is not user replaceable.
Article will discuss the replacement of the discontinued DiTaK 8 panel meters with the Current CUB5 series.

PRE-REQUISITES
One of the above DiTak 8 series panel mounted rate meters. The DiTak 8 model being replaced can have an external power supply connected.
Please note
The DiTak 8 meters models DT800010 and DT800020 use the MLPS1000 or MLPS2000 rear mounted VAC to VDC power supplies to power the backlight. The standoffs are of a different screw size and thread on the new CUB5 units. Either a new MLPS unit will also need to be purchased, or you can use a third party 12 or 24 VDC power source.
DiTak Model DT800000 is a LCD reflective display and does not use an external power supply. This model is powered by a fixed lead Lithium battery that is not user replaceable.
IN THIS ARTICLE
This article will discuss the procedure for replacing the discontinued DiTak 8 series panel meter with the current CUB5 version. Things to note:
- DiTak 8 unit had rear DIP switches for display rate scaling the CUB5 does not. The unit uses a programmable rate scaling via firmware and two fron push buttons that can be disabled if required.
- CUB5 units are the same panel opening size and will do both rate and count functions if both are configured when setting up.
- Please use appropriate disposal methods for the old DiTak 8 unit it does contain a lithium battery.
DiTak 8000 rear terminals
CUB5 rear terminals
You will need to supply a 12 or 24 VDC power source to the PWR Common on and + 9-28 VDC terminals of the CUB5 unit. Alternately, you can mount one of our MLPS1000 or MLPS2000 power supplies to these terminals.
Terminal 1 GND from the DiTak8 unit will be connected to the INP COMM terminal and terminal 3-INP from the DiTak 8 unit will be connected to terminal INP A of the CUB5.
Below is a scaling example to configure the CUB5 unit to display RPM. The CUB5 scaling is setup during the initial installation via firmware and not DIP switches. Once setup the two front pushbuttons of the CUB5 can be disabled if required.
Rate scaling example to display RPM with a proximity sensor looking at a 60-tooth gear.
Rate Menu 2-RATE
RATE- ENB YES
RATE- DP 0.0
RATE- DSP 60.0
The rate display value is based in seconds. To see a displayed value of RPM this is set to 60 for 60 seconds in a minute. Reference the CUB5 product manual for setting if you want to display a value per second or per hour.
RATE - INP 60.0
The rate input value is simply the number of input pulses per unit of measure. In this example a 60-tooth gear is used.
LO- UDT 1.0
HI-UDT 2.0
The front keys can be disabled by programming the user input as PRO-LOC and adding a jumper wire to rear terminals USR and INP COM once configured. Remove the jumper and you will have full programming access again.
