Overview
The Micro800 Series driver allows access to data tags in Micro800 PLCs and supports importing tag definitions from Connected Components Workbench (CCW) into Crimson 3.0+. [g-abmicro800_0 | Word]
Serial Configuration
In CCW:
- Open Controller → Serial Port
- Set driver to CIP Serial
- Configure:
- Baud Rate
- Parity
- Station Address
In Crimson:
- Select serial port → Pick driver
- Choose Allen-Bradley Micro800 Master
- Match serial settings with CCW
Driver Settings
- Source Address – Unique address for Red Lion device
- Data Link Layer – Full/Half Duplex (match PLC)
- Frame Validation – CRC or BCC (match PLC)
Device Settings
- Station Number must match PLC Station Address
- Transaction Timeout defines communication failure timeout
Ethernet Configuration
In CCW:
- Open Controller → Ethernet
- Configure IPv4 address
In Crimson:
- Select network protocol → Pick driver
- Set:
- IP Address
- Transaction Timeout
Tag Creation
Tags may be:
- Manually created
- Imported from CCW
Manual Tag Creation
- Access device → Manage → Create
- Enter tag name from CCW
- Configure type as needed
Array Creation
- Enable Array
- Set dimensions (up to 3)
- Enter size per dimension
Tag Import / Export
Export from CCW
- Device → Export → Variables to Excel
- Save file
Convert to CSV
- Open Excel file
- Save as CSV
Import into Crimson
- Use Import button
- Select CSV file
- Tags are automatically created
Mapping to Crimson Tags
- Use Select Address dialog
- Choose imported tag
For arrays:
- Set offsets
- Match Extent to array size
String Access
- Assign to String tag
- Set packing to None
- Match string length to imported value [g-abmicro800_0 | Word]
64-bit Data Access
Map 64-bit types to arrays:
- Set Extent = 2 × number of values

Auto Tag Creation (Crimson 3.1+)
- Use Create Data Tags
- Select CSV file
- Tags auto-generated
Notes:
- Invalid characters replaced
- Duplicate names flagged
- Array tags default to Entire Array read mode (can change to On Demand)
