Overview

The Emerson FloBoss/ROC serial communications driver supports FloBoss/ROC devices that follow the same implementation as the FloBoss 100 series or ROC800.

Device Configuration

A security section is available within the device configuration in Crimson.

Configure:

• Operator ID
• Password
• Access Level (if required)

These settings are used during communication with the Emerson device. [g3-roc2 | Word]

Accessing Data

A TLP selection dialog in Crimson provides:

• Short name
• Numeric TLP designation
• Data type [g3-roc2 | Word]

TLP Data Format

Numeric TLP values are interpreted as:

XXTTLLPP

Where:

• TT = Point Type
• LL = Logical Number
• PP = Parameter Number [g3-roc2 | Word]

String Data Handling

• Assign string data to a string tag
• Set packing to ASCII BigEndian
• Maximum length: 60 characters

Important:

• If writing a string with the same first 4+ characters as the existing value, clear the string first before writing the new value [g3-roc2 | Word]

Time Display

Use Crimson’s Time and Date primitive for displaying device time:

• Point Type 12, Parameter 8
• Point Type 136, Parameter 7 [g3-roc2 | Word]
