Abstract

The Sixnet I/O Tool Kit version 5.0.103 and below have a bug which will cause the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit to close unexpectedly when downloading or reading back from EtherTRAK-2 I/O modules with Tag Descriptions in their configuration are over 39 characters. To fix this you must keep Tag Descriptions below 40 characters.

Use Case: Loading configuration to E2 module

Required Software

Sixnet I/O Tool Kit 5.0.103 or below

Click the load button and the Tool Kit unexpectedly closes

1. Select the EtherTRAK-2 to load.
2. Go to Operations > Load.
3. Result will be the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit closing unexpectedly.

Work around to stop unexpected closure of the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit 

1. Select the EtherTRAK-2 module. Go to Configure > Configure Station/Module.
2. Go to the “I/O channels” section. Where the tag names are entered verify the “Tag Description” field is 39 characters or below.
