ISaGRAF V3.47 is an officially supported version of ISaGRAF, The latest ISaGRAF revision (Version 5) is recommended for new customers as it offers expanded functionality over this legacy software.
Licensing
ISaGRAF 3.47 Is primarily licensed through a hardware USB key, although Parallel port keys are also common. A small number of licenses are software licenses, but these are non-transferable and will be lost if the associated computer crashes. For all hardware based keys, only one key may be used in a computer at a time.
IsaGRAF Install Troubleshooting
When installing IsaGRAF software, you may see one of the Microsoft related error messages listed below:
"16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem drive:\program path SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers. VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application"
Cause:
This behavior can occur if the following registry value is corrupted: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD
This behavior can occur after you install a 16-bit program or a program that uses a 16-bit installation program that is not Windows XP-compliant.
This behavior can also occur if the Command.com file that is installed on your computer is damaged or is the incorrect version.
Resolution:
1.Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe or Regedit.exe).
2.Locate and select the following value
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD
3.On the Edit menu, click Delete.
4.On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Multi-string Value.
5.Type VDD in the Value Name box, and then press ENTER.
6.Quit Registry Editor.
Note: If you do not see VirtualDeviceDrivers in the registry, create one under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control, add a multistring value and type VDD in the value name box.
General Protection Fault using Virtual Machine
This application error might be seen while trying to debug using IsaGRAF 3.47 workbench.
Follow the steps below to get around this issue
1. Download winfloat.exe from http://www.conradshome.com/win31/archive/
2. Open winfloat.exe with 7zip. Find HIDE87.com(MS DOS) and extract it to desktop.
3. Copy HIDE87 to C:\Windows\System32\
4. Open c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt with notepad
5. Add these two lines in Autoexec as shown in the picture below
REM Fix for Gen. Protection Fault in win87em.dll
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\HIDE87.com
7. Save changes to autoexec.nt and reboot pc( not just the virtual machine)
