Set register allocation and readback memory

1. Select the RTU in the Sixnet Tool Kit Configuration. Go to Configure > Configure Station/Module…
   
2. Go to the “Advanced” tab. Click on the “Assign Resources” button. The table below shows the default registers allocated in the project.
   
3. This window is used to view and/or adjust I/O register usage in IPm-based stations. This window also provides a display of the file system memory usage and dynamic memory usage in the station.
4. Click the “readback” button to read the stations current memory settings.
   
   
   1. I/O Registers (Resources window)
      1. These fields display the number of I/O registers in this station. Some IPm-based controllers allow these values to be set larger or smaller as needed. When adjustable, the maximum number of registers of any given I/O type is 32,000.
      2. These registers may contain physical or virtual input values.
         1. Analog Ins Default = 8192 (AI registers 0 to 32000)
         2. Discrete Ins Default = 8192 (DI registers 0 to 32000)
         3. Long Ins Default = 1024 (LI registers 0 to 32000)
         4. Floating Point Ins Default = 1024 (FI registers 0 to 32000)

• These registers may contain physical or virtual output values.
  1. Analog Outs Default = 8192 (AO registers 0 to 32000)
  2. Discrete Outs Default = 8192 (DO registers 0 to 32000)
  3. Long Outs Default = 1024 (LO registers 0 to 32000)
  4. Floating Point Outs Default = 1024 (FO registers 0 to 32000)

5. To add or delete registers, enter the number of desired registers and click the Set Memory button to load the new setting into your station.
6. After memory is set click the “Readback” button. The I/O Registers should stay the same.
7. Usage Map button
   1. Click this button to access the Address Usage Map window, where you can view the I/O register usage in your IPm station.

What if readback memory doesn’t readback the set I/O Registers

1. After memory is set and the readback button is pressed. If the I/O register allocation that comes back is default or not what was set this can be rectified by reloading firmware.
