Functionality
- As you can see above the NT500x switch is connected to the E3 remote modules in a ring configuration.
- Please consult the E3 manual on how to set the internal jumper of each unit for pass thru
- By default, the NT500x switch has RSTP cut on from the factory so all you must do is to plug the modules into it and you then have a fully functional RSTP ring which will automatically switch over if a network failure occurs either at one end or in the middle of the network.
- Using out of the box settings you will typically get a 20 second failover. There are some setting you can tweak in the RSTP setup to make this a little faster, but out of the box should work fine for most applications
