QUESTION
- Why does the Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP have no valid connections in the EDS file in Studio 5000?
ANSWER
- Because Studio 5000 has a limit of data length with a maximum input data length of 500 bytes and output data length of 496 bytes for EtherNet/IP adapter device in class 1 communication. So If Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP module exceed the maximum length of Studio5000 limit, Studio 5000 will not recognize the correct connections path of Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP module, So, the length of process data should be reduced for host application of Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP to adapt the limit of Studio 5000.
- If the data length of process data can not be reduced, the class 3 communication should be applied between PLC and Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP.The EDS file is no longer needed.
