This article introduces how to configure HotConnct function of gateway with EtherCAT slave interface in TwinCA. Also ,the other EtherCAT Master device which support HotConnect funciton can reference this article when configure gateways too.

- Configure Alias ID of gateway's EtherCAT interface in TwinCAT
- Enable HotConnet function of gateway in TwinCAT
Configure Alias ID of gateway's EtherCAT interface in TwinCAT
Because the gateway do not add dip-switch or rotary switch to configure Alias ID(node ID) of gateway's EtherCAT interface，But to configure Alias ID can through EtherCAT master device such as TwinCAT to directly write value of Alias ID into E²PROM of gateway's EtherCAT interface.
- Add gateway to EtherCAT network configuration in TwinCAT.
- Enter "Anybus Communicator->EtherCAT->Advanced Settings" page.
- Open ESC access>E²PROM->configured station Alias node，Enter value of Alias ID in “New Value“.The value of Alias ID is ”1~65535“，Click ”Write to E²PROM“ button.

- After sucessfully write,click "OK" button.
Enable HotConnet function of gateway in TwinCAT
- Choose gateway node，Click right key of mouse ，select ”Add to HotConnect group“-> click "OK" button.
- Enter "Anybus Communicator->HotConnect" page，click "Configure..."button , configure "Identification ADO“ to ”Configured station Alias"， click "OK" button.
- Enter “Anybus Communicator->EtherCAT” page，set value of Identification to value of gateway's Alias ID ，this example is ”1001“，configure done.
