This article describes how to use Gateway ESI Generator tool to generate ESI file with PDO information.

Download and install：

IN THIS ARTICLE
1. Get the gateway EtherCAT network firmware version.
- Run Anybus Configuration Manager-Communicator CAN software and establish the connection between PC and gateway, open Tools -> Diagnostics/Status interface, check the EtherCAT network firmware version, it's V1.15.1.
2. Get gateway Input/Output size.
- Open or upload gateway configuration, enter Tools -> Address Overview interface, check In Area and Out Area bytes, it's 8 bytes input and 8 bytes output.
3. Generate ESI file with PDO information.
- Run Gateway ESI Generator software.
- Switch to ABC CAN tab.
- Input Size (bytes) and Output Size (bytes) should be entered the number of bytes as in step 2 checked.
- Gateway Firmware version should be entered the version number as step 1 checked, e.g. V1.15.1 only need to enter in V1.15.
- Clicking the Generate button will automatically generate the ABC_CAN.xml file, which is automatically stored in ESI_Files folder of Gateway ESI Generator tool (\gateway-esi-generator-1-0-0-0\Gateway_ESI_Generator\ ESI_Files).
ADDITIONAL INFO
After generating a new ESI file, the previous ESI file in the PLC Configuration Tool must be deleted.
