An Anybus CompactCom 30/40 with a network type that requires the use of a Device Description File
You are using an Anybus CompactCom product in your development, and you want to know if there is a way to generate its Device Description File automatically, in order to speed up your development process.
In general, HMS provides example Device Description Files for the Anybus CompactCom products, and the example files can be used as a skeleton to manually write your own file according to your implementation.
However, if you are using an Anybus CompactCom 40 that requires a Device Description File, then Anybus offers a generator tool for many networks, which simplifies that process greatly by generating the file for you automatically. This is valid for the following networks: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, and POWERLINK.
You can have access to all the generator tools on this page, under the Software section.
On the other hand, if you are using an Anybus CompactCom 30 that requires a Device Description File, then you would have to use the example file provided and customize it to fit your implementation. Unfortunately, the generator tools that we offer are only compatible with the Anybus CompactCom 40 products.
