This article describes how to create a GSD file for the Anybus CompactCom 40 PROFINET IRT IIoT Secure module.

PROBLEM
The HMS PROFINET GSD Generator Tool V1.9.0.0 retrieves information about an initialized Anybus CompactCom 40 PROFINET IRT interface by means of the module's web server over the unsecure HTTP protocol. In return, however, the Anybus CompactCom 40 PROFINET IRT IIoT Secure module only supports the secure HTTPS protocol. Therefore, the PROFINET GSD Generator Tool doesn't work.
SOLUTION
To resolve this situation, and not being obliged to edit example GSD files manually, you could exchange the Anybus CompactCom 40 PROFINET IRT IIoT Secure for a regular Anybus CompactCom 40 PROFINET IRT module (like an M40 AB6605, M40 w/o housing AB6705, B40 AB6675) and make use of the PROFINET GSD Generator Tool. This works because the PROFINET stack on the IIoT Secure module is identical to the ones on regular non-IIoT.
You can just as well use Anybus CompactCom 40 Common Ethernet modules (M40 AB6610, M40 w/o housing AB6710, B40 AB6680) with the PROFINET firmware loaded to achieve the same outcome.
