QUESTION
Can Intesis Multi-Unit solutions be connected at the same time with a Centralized Controller in a Samsung installation?
ANSWER
In a Samsung installation where an Intesis Multi-Unit gateway is present, it is not possible to connect a Centralized Controller.
- In case of BACner, Modbus and Home Automation do not support a Centralized Controller.
- In case of KNX,KNX, while it is capable of reading the status objects, it cannot send control commands. If a Samsung Centralized Controller is present alongside the gateway, the gateway will only have the ability to read the status objects. It will not be able to send any commands. If a command is sent from the gateway to the Samsung NASA bus, the command will be ignored.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
It appears that there is an inherent issue with the communication ports (R1-R2) of Samsung systems that prevents the connection of a Centralized Controller. Unfortunately, it is recommended to proceed with the installation of the Intesis Multi-Unit gateway without integrating a Centralized Controller.
