Is an IXXAT USB to CAN required to setup a CANopen Manager X-gateway?

HMS supports setting up an Anybus CANopen Manager with the Anybus Configuration Manager CANopen software.  The software requires an IXXAT CAN device with VCI driver support to communicate over the bus. HMS recommends the USB to CAN 1.01.0281.12001.  This allows you to connect the device directly to your PC for configuration.
